Juvenile Education Program

In 2024, we launched the Juvenile Education Program, aimed at providing comprehensive learning opportunities for children in juvenile detention facilities. This pioneering initiative seeks to address the unique educational needs of young individuals, fostering personal development, academic success, and social integration.

The greatest challenge of our time is how we treat our children, especially those in the criminal justice system. When we take away their opportunities for education, we lock them in a future of poverty and hopelessness.

Consistent, Available & Accessible Education for Children in Juvenile Centers

We believe that education is a fundamental right, not a privilege.

According to recent reports, over 60% of juveniles in detention facilities have not completed basic education, contributing to a cycle of poverty and offending that is hard to escape. The Nigerian Child Rights Act 2003, explicitly recognizes the right of every child to free, compulsory, and universal education. This legal framework underscores the crucial role of education in ensuring the well-being and rehabilitation of children, even within the challenging circumstances of incarceration.

With JEP, we ensure that education is available, accessible, and consistent for children in juvenile centers. Our qualified and passionate tutors engage these students in daily lessons, preparing them for the forthcoming BECE (Basic Education Certificate Examination) and equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed for a brighter future.
