CELSIR Champions Justice, Healing and Empowerment During 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence

CELSIR has once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to ending gender-based violence by spearheading a series of impactful initiatives during the 16 Days of Activism campaign.

This year, CELSIR took the global stage by hosting a groundbreaking webinar that brought together esteemed Gender-Based violence activists from around the world. The event delved into the complex legal landscape of gender-based violence, highlighting challenges faced by survivors and exploring innovative approaches to justice. By fostering international dialogue and collaboration, CELSIR has positioned itself as a leading voice in the global movement to end gender-based violence.

Locally, CELSIR continued its tireless efforts to support survivors and promote healing. A transformative trauma-informed care workshop was held at the female custodial centre, Kirikiri, providing incarcerated women with essential tools for healing and mindset reorientation.

Additionally, in the course of rendering psycho-social support at the trauma-informed care workshop, the organization extended critical legal aid and representation to women at the centre who lacked legal counsel, following up on their cases to ensure they received fair treatment and justice.

Through a series of educative social media posts, CELSIR raised awareness about the devastating impact of gender-based violence and encouraged community members to take action. The organization has inspired countless individuals to become agents of change by fostering open dialogue and promoting empathy.

As the 16 Days of Activism ends, CELSIR remains steadfast in its mission to create a world free from violence and discrimination. Through continued advocacy, education, and reentry support, we will strive to empower justice-impacted individuals and build a more just and equitable future for all.
